FAQ's

Why not produce our CD ourselves, as a band?

Some bands have been successful at doing just that.  Especially those bands that have rich label deals and can spend weeks upon weeks in the studio.  Our expert production services will capture the professional sound you require without wasted time and expense.  That is vital when you are self-funded and on a tight budget.  Also it is often helpful (and necessary) to have objectively trained ears on your project helping you develop your sound.

How will your product be any different than a recording I can do with my home recording gear?

Some home recordings turn out very well.  Most don’t.  For the most part, recording at home does not give you the benefit of a variety of microphones, outboard gear, processing, monitoring, acoustically engineered recording spaces and, most importantly, audio professionals with big ears.  Home recording is a great way to develop musical ideas and share demo recordings with friends and fellow musicians.  However it rarely yields a result worthy of replication and release.  Furthermore, we go to great lengths to assure that your master recording is comparable to others on the market within the same genre, that your master is fully “Red Book” compliant and that all appropriate codes are in place.

Will you, as producers, superimpose your artistic vision of the music in place of ours?

No.  It’s your music and your vision.  We simply wish to help you make your recording all that it can be.  In the process we may make some suggestions but we do not seek to supercede your artistic vision.  Ideally, the collaboration and combination of minds on your project will make the whole much greater than any individual parts.

How long does the process take?

A lot of that depends on your schedule and availability.  Generally we like to see projects turn within six weeks.

Will you be able to help us with distribution?

We are producers, not distributors.  Our job is like a home improvement company that fixes up your home to look the best it can prior to sale.  We make sure that your songs (intellectual property) are presented in the best possible way in a recorded media to successfully make it in the competitive market place. However, we can offer consultation and guidance, at no extra charge, that will maximize your chances of distributing your project.
